The base engine is more than enough in city and highway driving.

I love the handling and power of the turbo engine.

Turbo mounted in the back - behind a motor, makes future service a headache and it makes engine bay super hot.

The turbo engine makes accelerating smooth, and before you know it, you are going 90, and it feels like 60.

Acceleration ok at best given engine size.

Its a six speed automatic vs 8 speed or 10 speed like most others make these day.

Very noisy at highway speeds with the 20" wheels/tires.

Even at high speeds, this little truck eats up the curves like a more expensive luxury vehicle.

Seats are very uncomfortable, and the entire interior is made of cheap plastic that rattles.

Bothersome wind noise; haven't realised advertised mileage; and my smartphone that worked just fine in Ford Fiesta will not part with cars Bluetooth system very disappointed I have to buy new phone.

I get to control and monitor the car from my phone, and also operate the car all day without the keys, only my phone is enough.

The best things about the 2022 Hyundai Elantra SEL are the styling of the vehicle, the back-up camera, and the infotainment display screen that can show my smartphone GPS navigation screen.

The transmission shifts inconsistently causing either jerking of vehicle at low speeds or inadequate acceleration when needed to merge into traffic.

I would rate this vehicle at least 4 stars if the transmission did not make driving this vehicle Work and tiresome.

The DSG transmission is a very poor choice for this vehicle.

The transmission is a bit laggy from a start

but until the embarrassing 7-speed transmission gets addressed, I wouldn't recommend the Taos to someone.

The only negative comments I have is about the transmission.

but the uneven power delivery is a hazard and I would warn others to avoid the AWD version until a future time when VW either fixes this condition or uses a different transmission in the next version.

.the car violently Jerks sometimes when stop at the light when the ignition shuts off,the lane assist will randomly shut off.

I purchased this in January and at only 4000 miles has been to the dealer multiple times for stop start stalling, EPC code, check engine light and other electronic issues.

Lately, while driving, the car will flash the check engine light when it's low on gas.

The dash/cockpit and steering wheel are the best assets in the S. 
The area to plug your phone has a weird angle that makes it tough to plug into unless you're in Park, the CarPlay continuously disconnects due to the angle and/or hitting a bump disconnects the phone slightly making it necessary to unplug and replug the phone while driving.

I really like this car and find it unique.I trade my cars in frequently and thus one I still like a lot.Looks great with the gloss black rims and I love the wireless Android auto and apple carplay.

but, you should not need to push the seat back for basic foot room.

Then there is the car-play entertainment system, if you don't have your phone plugged into a special jack it doesn't work, with your phone, and cable.

As you lift off from the brake, the car in the smoothest fashion begins to roll, and what’s interesting is that as you press on the gas, the smoothness increases and is accompanied by what sounds like a light airline wind tunnel.

Love the car looks are amazing plenty of power only downside is the interior is kinda cheap it makes a lot of noise and scratches up really easy and Iv only put 15,000 on it!

You’ll notice some weird vibrations in the engine, that’s totally normal though.

Only complaints, if you can call them that, would be it sits a little low and I could use it a bit higher, and they don't give you a spare tire!!!

Cons: First the Corolla Hybrid doesn't come with a spare tire, they give you a fix-it-flat and an air pump, not going to work if it is NOT a very small leak.

This car uses car play, android play and can even be used with Amazon.

Directions are displayed on the screen when using my my iPhone.

Only seen a gas station a handful of times, and I do a lot of driving.

Gas has doubled in cost sense i purchased.

Took a drive from Charleston, WV to Orlando, FL and then to Navarre, FL back to Charleston and spent less than &#36;150 in gas, which is amazing.

Don’t worry, it will deactivate the second you press the gas.

Interior is far more basic than the car's performance and it's nice exterior design - and this was a huge adjustment coming from a solid car with all the bells and whistles with a V8 engine, yet 52 miles per gallon, when I don' need the 7 seats, etc.

Reverse Gear warning sound - It is much too loud and sounds like a backhoe backing up.

but at times the transmission seems to shudder into 3rd or 4th gears and almost lurches the passengers forward for a half second, but it's not consistent enough to be checked by the dealership.

The only cons are at very low speeds and very light acceleration it sometimes hunts for the correct gear.

People complain about the piano black trim around the center (radio and HVAC controls)
I keep a microfiber in the center console, takes literally 30 seconds to wipe off any fingerprint smudges or dust.

Doesn’t remember what you use for phone or Bluetooth device if multiple devices are used.

Also on the base hybrid- heated seats, heated mirrors, all the safefy&#47;driving features, easy phone connectivity, power driver seat, 4 driving modes, low speed 4WD lock, automatic high beams that work great, tows small trailers with high MPG, 6 speed auto with paddle shifters.

Haven't been able to get Android Auto to work more than once, and dealer wasn't helpful in figuring out the issue.

From what I read the only real negatives should be the upgraded 10.25 touchscreen info system which will not have wireless apple Carplay&#47;Android Auto.

I’m also having issues with the check engine light and the mechanics can’t figure out why.

Putting signal lights at the lowest point on a vehicle is just asking for trouble.

Ontop of that the touch screen has a mind of its own, worked great for 1 month and now it wants to click around randomly, dealer couldn't even be bothered to look at it, the android auto only works via a cable the wireless android auto skips and fails constantly.

Love the wireless car play and phone charging.

but this is the most comfortable car we've ever had.

This car has more going for it in technology, comfort, and never feel a lack of power when needed.

The safety features standard on the Limited are numerous and cost a extra on a lot of SUVs, even more expensive ones.

I use this feature when there’s a lot of rain as it gives me extra confidence against possible skidding.

The warranties are amazing as are the safety features and Hyundai's after sales support.

Mechanically and comfort wise the car is the same.

The front leather seats are comfortable, the interior is very roomy, quiet, and the feel with the panoramic roof open makes driving and the view enjoyable and fun to drive.

I equipped the executive package from factory for “the looks”, and the crystal shifter has a bad reputation for looking gaudy.

The professional driving feature is exceptional - making long-distance trips less stressful, more enjoyable.

Don’t sell yourself short get the M package

I traded in my 2020 X3 M40i, Which was a great vehicle, for the 2022 X5 X40i with the M sport package.

The value is very good overall considering outstanding build quality, standard equipment &#38; the standard electronics packages.

New X5 is much quieter, better riding and provides a better driver experience.

but my favorites so far are the adaptive cruise and heated steering wheel.

The heated seats and steering wheel are great, climate controls are NOT contained in the screen, and it does NOT have Adaptive Cruise Control (I can't be the only one who doesn't like that!).

Since the beginning I've  had 3 issues, electrical glitch with blindside warning coming on and not able to adjust the radio with the steering wheel controls.

My 2022 equinox seems to have more room in the back and it’s definitely more comfortable in the front!

The interior space around the driver and passenger is non-existent.

We have three kiddos and between the car seat for my 3 year old, our 12 year old, and 7 year old there is no room at all!

I rated the build quality 3 stars since the headliner was out of place when I received delivery, the panels on the pillars are made of some kind of black fiber glass materials that looks cheap, and the speaker on the dash has a cover on it that feels like was made from recycled plastic bottles.
