24 Mar

My criteria were the following: great AWD and decent ground clearance for handling unplowed snow, small enough to regularly parallel park in the city, SUPER reliable, and comfortable enough for long road trips.

23 Mar

-no remote start -no self parallel parking -no memory for autohold -if you open door on D mode, car won't engage auto hold, it drives.

14 Apr

There has been minimal adjustment between my older and smaller Mazda3 and the new CX-5 when it comes to u-turns and parallel parking.

It accelerates well and there are so many important features that make driving it both fun and safe.

This vehicle is well worth the money if you want value and the newest safety features.

Best of all these features I found in this price range.

Auto-hatch closer is the option you never knew you needed and can never live without.

The carplay functionality for the display is awesome and the safety features are super helpful.

2 Apr

I really appreciate the options Mazda gives you over controlling the way the engine performs.

This car is comfortable, handles well, is relatively quiet compared to other models in its class, has loads of safety features, and has - hands down - the best sound system of any car I've owned.

Quick, responsive handling, ultra-smooth 6 speed transmission, safety and entertainment system are incredible, attention to detail in all of the interior styling is awesome, and overall reliability and quality meets or exceeds Toyota and Honda.

22 May

This vehicle is well worth the money if you want value and the newest safety features.

5 Jan

It is comfortable, extremely safety conscious, nimble, and honestly, fun to drive!

19 Sep

Purchased car for safety equipment and price/value, 18 months later, the safety equipment is definitely worth it.

9 Sep

but nothing compares to this vehicle from safety, reliability, ease of the infotainment controls, the quiet cabin, comfort, etc.

7 Jul

It was as close as I could get in size, features ( not counting the new safety features and heads-up display) that I could find without spending $35,000 to $50,000.

25 May

I like all the safety features, which also gave me a discount on my insurance,

21 Mar

The Mazda bucked at low speed in city driving and the automatic transmission whined in gears 1-3 at low speed.

1 Aug

First, the engine / transmission combo is barely adequate.

19 Jul

For others, the acceleration and shifting issues may cause some hesitation.

1 Feb

Concealed engine and transmission problems on brand new Cx 5 Mazda lie and have not repaired.

26 Jan

the shifting by this automatic transmission is so smooth you have to put window down so you can hear the engine to even detect it.

28 Jul

It is nice because I am coming from a cvt transmission that I don't like its a Corolla.

15 Jul

I will be taking it back to see if they can reset the transmission.

3 Jul

Very jerky during shifting which seems to be all the time.

16 Jan

But the shift points are crazy high.

1 Jun

Engine failed and Mazda replaced the intake manifold.

1 Feb

Bad deal Mazda’s they have transmissions fail a lot on new cars.

24 Oct

N/A

1 Oct

Mazda asked the dealer to perform a software issue which failed to rectify the problem.

19 Sep

One complaint - the factory equipped tires are noisy.

22 Jan

All safety features or warning can be changed to sounds, vibrations or off.

16 Jan

Go with a Honda and Toyota at least they won't tell you they built the car to make noise when you have a passenger in it.

6 Jan

The engine is more efficient; I recently got 32 miles per gallon on a road trip, and that given the car is heavier due to additional noise insulation.

11 Oct

Very little road noise.

22 Aug

The road noise is very low.

18 Aug

These tires are so noisy that on a very uneven road, you cannot even hear the radio.

6 Jul

After doing research and driving my wife's CX3 I decided to trade in my noisy rattling 2015 RAV4.

3 Jul

Interior road noise is high.

15 May

Also, the seals on the bottom of the door wrap under to keep dirt and noise out better.

1 Jun

I had almost 3 crashes because the radar cruise failed and i had to punch the brakes and nearly missed the car in front.

25 May

I came upon one instance where the vehicle in front was coming to a stop and my CX-5 actually stopped my vehicle without me having to even touch the brake,

23 Dec

No touching the brake or using the gas pedal.

6 Dec

N/A

9 Nov

button with foot on the brake, engine turned over as normal, but did not start.

22 Aug

CONS - hesitates when pulling away at stop sign, brakes seem soft, front seat cushion is short for a tall person, rear styling is blah/cheap looking.

14 Jun

At 17,000 miles, I have to replace the brakes and rotors on both axles.

17 Feb

Then after 2 weeks and 300 miles the brake warning came on until shut off and then restart caused shaking and Icon check engine at dealer.

26 Jun

I usually listen to Pandora radio and the Bluetooth will sometimes disconnect and won't read my phone for some reason (it has happened with both my iPhone and android phones).

22 Mar

buttons and knobs on the dash, they take up half the center console with this big, bulky knob that controls the settings, radio, nav, etc.

18 Aug

These tires are so noisy that on a very uneven road, you cannot even hear the radio.

1 Aug

The basic radio doesn't have the wattage to really make the stereo thump.

20 Jun

Sirius radio not available on this model, center armrest is too low and too far back for my liking and wheels are ugly and dirty looking in my opinion.

15 May

Tech: The Bose sound system has surround sound with a center channel.

16 Jan

The radio is disappointing.

I do kind of think it was the specific vehicle as there were a lot of clicking noises after I turned the engine off after driving.

10 Nov

2.0 liter eco boost engines are cracking between cylinders and ford isn't covering them mine has 64,350 miles on it now junk still owe on it.

23 Nov

It got a little noisy at about 20,000 miles.

22 Nov

The wind noise is loud and horrific on the passenger side.

11 Mar

We put a lot of mileage on our cars and after going the hybrid route decided it was time to get rid of the noisy drive and all the bumps.

6 Oct

Cabin noise- it’s noisy at 50mph or greater.

28 Jul

I have owned a 2017 Edge and it has a nasty rattle in the dash.

19 May

not what you should get on $41,000 vehicle loud, wind noises .

29 Apr

Too many squeeks and rattles developed after 4K miles.

2 Apr

but was unable to permanently correct the creaking noises and the door was only partially corrected.

11 May

I would also stay away from CVT transmissions.

12 Feb

I have maintained this car meticulously and there should be no reason for a bad trans.

22 Nov

The transmission seems to lurch at low speeds.

12 Jan

There are a few things to complain about, the transmission occasionally has a clunk or two and I find all infotainment systems to be contorted,

10 Jul

9 Feb

19 Jun

(3) Back-in parking assist's success is spotty (unlike the parallel parking which has never failed me).

14 Apr

Totally reliable, comfortable, quiet, super cheap to own.

24 Feb

Year I am now more comfortable with the dashboard nd do find the car to be very safe and reliable I do have a diagnosed mild cognitive impairment So to be fair to the car It is more difficult for me to learn new technology Shouldn’t always blame the tool!

13 Feb

I like having the easy plug-in that only requires a standard household three-prong-plug, and the instant transfer to gas-powered hybrid I was used to with my reliable 2005 Prius with 210,000 miles my husband is now driving.

25 Jan

Very reliable, great gas mileage, suited me well.

17 Jan

Toyota Prius has established itself as the most reliable and signature hybrid vehicle to date.

15 Dec

Look at it like a Tesla 3 that is reliable and won't break.

16 Oct

The car is quiet, dependable, handles well, and is an excellent buy when you consider the state tax rebate and federal tax credit.

4 Aug

I currently own a 2009 Prius (which is the most reliable car I've ever owned) and as somone looking to get a new car the new Prius prime has more than peaked my interest.

14 Feb

After 85,000 miles it still is reliable.

5 May

The car rides great and with the plug in feature gives me an extra 25 miles gas free every time I plug in.

25 Aug

I really have loved the looks, comfort and fuel efficiency of this car.

23 Aug

WHEN RUNNING ON GAS ONLY ANDKEEP IT UNDER 65 MI/HR YOU CAN GET 65 TO 80 MPG.

9 Aug

still have not used gas after 500 mies !

7 Mar

On the plus side is the great gas mileage, comfortable seats and spacious cargo/trunk

23 Nov

It is better than that car in every way - better handling, much better fuel economy, better safety features like adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assist, and better comfort.

22 Nov

This car challenges you to break your own record for fuel economy

15 Jan

If you can recharge it at your destination you won't be buying much gas.

15 Nov

It is a very good car especially for fuel saving, comfort and reliability.

30 Oct

I really love the gas mileage, and this thing climbs over mountains like a breeze.

13 May

This is a better version of regular Prius with better energy efficient features.

5 May

but once you learn there are many features that are very helpful.

30 Mar

It had many features I love: plug in hybrid which runs up to 24 miles ALL ELECTRIC, and then continues to get 54 mpg thereafter.

19 Apr

Surprisingly a lot of plastic, for the money you pay, yet more options, technology, than I know how to operate.

23 Nov

It is better than that car in every way - better handling, much better fuel economy, better safety features like adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assist, and better comfort.

22 Apr

It comes with most of the features I want.

3 Mar

Love the mileage and safety features.

15 Nov

I drive the first one to 200,000 miles plus and was enticed to new bluetooth technology for safety and a lot more safety features for increased visibilty, parking assist and other assistive features.

20 Oct

12 Sep

The grey and black interior is more suited to me compared to the shiny white option in the showroom.

14 Apr

Totally reliable, comfortable, quiet, super cheap to own.

21 Nov

The ride is very comfortable and quiet unlike the early Prius.

25 Aug

I really have loved the looks, comfort and fuel efficiency of this car.

19 Apr

Awesome car, styling, comforts, love the instant acceleration of the plug in power (first 23 miles) since I only get that much of electric only I often race other vehicles that think I am economy Prius.

7 Mar

On the plus side is the great gas mileage, comfortable seats and spacious cargo/trunk

23 Nov

It is better than that car in every way - better handling, much better fuel economy, better safety features like adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assist, and better comfort.

30 Jun

Handles great, & is super comfy.

15 Nov

It is a very good car especially for fuel saving, comfort and reliability.

12 Sep

Quiet comfortable ride with 70 mpg with hybrid + plugin makes me very happy.

14 May

Plenty of room, comfy.

7 Apr

The trunk and glove compartment are small,

19 Jan

The car rides nice, easy to get in and out, cargo room a little smaller than I would like

12 Jan

Also, the so-called middle seat in the Volt is so uncomfortable that it would only be OK for a small child traveling a short distance.

9 Nov

Of course there are some cons, here is the short list: navigation just sucks, very small cargo space, only 2 seats on a back, no android/iPhone integration whatsoever, crippled "apps", poor design of air conditioning system.

24 Oct

But for a family, it's a bit too small.

24 Aug

The trunk space is smaller than a normal Prius,

18 Jun

Noisy - esp.

6 Apr

lastly this car has developed an annoying rattle somewhere in the dashboard.

11 Jun

However, the noise level can be somewhat annoying when backing into a tight garage space,

21 May

but we ended up moving back to the midwest, and in the interim drive many freeway miles, horrible highway ride, noisy to the point of wanting to jump out and abandon shop!

2 Mar

At a light off the line, it instantly, silently, shames the noise machines.

12 Mar

Great gas mileage, great for city living due to its size, and also works just fine for long distance trips.

3 Feb

I've tracked almost all of my MPG in a spreadsheet and while I've seen the performance decrease somewhat, it was rock solid upper 30s in summer, even 40s when I didn't drive as aggressively, and upper 20s to low 30s in Wisconsin winters.

23 Feb

35 MPG and super practical.

3 Jul

Road noise is considerable, sure,

10 Jun

There is a slight rattle to the engine, likely a motor mount issue,

11 Mar

The only issue I had in regards to ride was when it was windy, the car got pushed around a little, and also the road noise is really loud.

26 Dec

Cheap to own cons, minor engine noise (barely notice OCD) due to poor sound proofing of firewall.

28 Oct

but the plastics still rattle like crazy.

24 Jul

I plan on doing a few minor mods to it like installing some insulation under the carpet and doors to reduce noise levels, it isnt too bad

28 Jan

but deep down I'm hoping that it won't because I'm itching to get into a nice car that doesn't "rattle" when traveling at 80 mph.

Not even a vibration while moving.

Only probs: prominent road noise in cabin & difficult to retrieve things that have slid under the seat.

26 Nov

The brakes are terrible.

16 Apr

The best thing to do before driving this car is to start the engine, put it on drive, hold the brake and wait for one or even 2 minutes like this.

3 Feb

I had one weird slip of the transmission once as it doesn't always kick down into passing gear smoothly and replaced the alternator along with the usual brakes and such,

15 Feb

I was not used to the high seat and low gear shift as the Honda Civic SI we had the shift was loated where the AC instruments are on this Yaris.

3 Aug

even though this car is a bit sluggish off the line, it makes up for it in second and third gear and I have to slow down to keep from going too fast at 60 to 80 mph.

26 Apr

Acceleration is a tad slow in the first three gears,
