The only negative is interior road noise on the hwy's overlaid with hot mix.

10 Feb

It is a very comfortable ride except for the non stop irritating squeaking noise that no one can seem to find and repair.

13 Aug

The 2018 model is exponentially better in three critical ways; sound (insulation from road noise/air noise, even at 80+mph), road manners, and acceleration.

12 Apr

More power and less noise.

30 Aug

17 Jan

We have some issues, at a year and a half all ignitors had to be replaced under warranty after engine light came on.

At a light, stopping engages the idle stop which shuts off the engine, a setting that impossibly must be disabled everytime you start the car.

15 Jan

No blind spots compared to so many suv's on the market and never replaced the original tires till it had eighty thousand miles.

25 Aug

Very few repairs, light bulb headlight, cabin air filter, tires and battery in 9 years.

4 Jun

The tire size is limited to two manufactures and thus the high price.

18 Feb

The tire wear problem is well known and at 35k miles, expect to replace them.

20 Jan

every 2-3 weeks the light comes on and at least one of the four tires is low (@24-26psi) For the first time in my life I pray for someone to steal my car and park it on the railroad tracks!

31 Mar

The captains chair option with stowaway middle seat is truly novel and well executed.

17 Feb

The captains chairs are awesome.

14 Dec

Captains chairs in second row are neat; third row stows flat--don't even know it's there.

19 Jul

Kids love the captain seat in 2nd row.

13 May

Lots of space, optional captain's chairs in the backseat as well as heat & a/c, backup camera, keyless ignition, and so many more extras.

6 May

Standard equipment includes: back up camera, rear seat change up into captains chairs, easy to read controls, AC & heat controls for the rear passengers, lots of HP, loads of trunk space (w/ 3rd seat down) and regular gas.

22 Nov

I liked the second row occupants having the ability to control their own air conditioning settings from their "captain's" chairs.

1 Oct

Best plus is the captain's chair in the 2nd row.

27 Jul

But on the plus side, the 2nd row captains chair design with the walkthrough feature to the back row is great.

22 Sep

love it, very nice, rides good, love the heated seats, very roomy, like the color, like the push

25 Nov

It is strong and does not give any problems drives smooth, carries tons If weight and does not affect mpg Best suv with little to no maintenance issues

6 Nov

The Highlander has a sun/moon roof, heated seats, and a backup camera which my last vehicle didn't have and it is also a V6 that surprisingly gets good gas mileage.

26 Oct

Better gas mileage than before!

9 Aug

Cold Weather Package is a PLUS (heated windshield and mirrors) Decent gas mileage.

31 Mar

If you can find one with lower milage which is rare-grab it!

29 Dec

This car drove very nice, low mileage, good price and well taken care of from one owner.

28 Oct

High mileage has little to do with the value of this car.

15 Sep

Bad points: mileage low 20's around town.

16 Apr

Ok mpg, I think it's to light for the engine!

25 Aug

but wished gas mileage was better.

30 Jul

I didn't give it five stars because the ride and road noise aren't the best,

8 May

but worst of all was the 'Highlander startup rattle' Look for it, there's many examples out there.

18 Feb

There have been numerous rattles in the doors and currently the rear seat vibrates loudly even at low speeds.

1 Jan

I have to take constant trips to the dealership to get rattles fixed all over the car.

19 Jun

Now every time you turn the car on it makes a grinding noise.

30 Jan

My 2008 Highlander started making a severe sparkknock noise upon cold start.

7 Dec

What drives me crazy is the dash rattles, which is way worse in winter.

28 Jun

12 Feb

too many rattles in the dashboard that is driving me crazy, gets worse in the winter

4 Feb

In the snow, my brakes seem to lock the front wheels after a thumping noise.

8 May

Body rattles, transmission shift-float problems (FINALLY shifted normally after dealer performed a software recall for the brakes.

13 Jan

Have replaced numerous door rest inserts, ratlles coming from every corner, New transmission at 80k, now it's in the shop because the lift gate needs a new hydraulic system.

23 Feb

supposedly they have to drop the engine and the transmission to get to the water pump on the side of the engine.

23 Feb

supposedly they have to drop the engine and the transmission to get to the water pump on the side of the engine.

7 Aug

Another concern is lag on acceleration - shifting from 1 to 2 gear.

8 May

Long story short we took it in to be checked out and found out we need a new transmission!!!!

27 Apr

When going up small hills the transmission will not shift up and jerks when it does shift.

14 Apr

Second, the transmission makes me crazy. From a rolling start, the transmission doesn't upshift quickly enough from first to second, resulting in an awkward "pull."

2 Jan

but when starting off going down hill (which is how our drive is situated) this transmission is rough.

4 Dec

And heavy accelerations isn't well accepted by this transmission.

14 Apr

), the car had 1 issue in 8 years (water pump failure, covered under warranty - took an hour to fix).

14 Mar

Make sure sure sure before you buy this that the oil cooling pipe has been replaced under the extended warranty.

4 Jun

The tires cost about $1400 (poor choice and expensive) and regardless of the warranty they last only a mere 19K.

7 Sep

Yes, it was outside the warranty and Toyota has no obligation to fix it and I have no obligation to purchase another Toyota.

23 Sep

I was surprised that reliability has not been as good as I expected from what I was told of Toyota ( good marketing I guess),and some repair items under warranty required discussion elevated to dealer manager before issue was resolved.

Never a problem with engine, only tires, exhaust and brakes as they wore out.

1 Jun

Other than putting new tires on and keeping the fluids topped I?ve not had to do any maintenance .

6 Nov

Oil, Gas, tires and good maintence.

1 Sep

I have traveled aprox 6,000 miles so far and the fuel milage is great around 19 miles per gallon with the off road tires and four wheel drive, The engine is very responsive and will light the tires up if you don't watch it.

5 Jan

Now, at 18,000 miles, the outside of the right front tire is worn bald.

8 Nov

but if you want that ride just change the shocks and tires.

16 Feb

Love the captains chairs which come in handy for long trips.

25 Apr

It has the very comfortable captain's chairs with the short console.

16 Mar

Captains chairs with center console would have been a better choice.

15 May

I’d like better gas mileage which is consistently around 16 mpg whether riding solo or towing a boat,

27 Apr

Rides like a car and performs as a truck.

1 Jul

Amazing ride, just like new.

16 May

This is a great truck, lots of room with the double cab, rides smooth, quiet ride..Distractions-poor fuel economy, when loaded needs to a have air bags added to level the truck.

1 May

Solid and good ride even after 100,000 miles.

18 Mar

I love how it rides and steers.

9 Mar

The gas mileage is good, around 22 mpg on highway, and the ride is comfortable.

15 Dec

Rides smooth.

1 Oct

And enjoy the RIDE!! !

25 Mar

The double cab gives this truck a very long wheelbase which is great for ride comfort,

21 Apr

And I’ve had them all and the Toyota Tundra Is by far the best!

13 May

I am very satisfied with my Tundra.

1 Jul

With that said, the Toyota Tundra will always be my favorite.

1 Mar

My favorites were Tundra and F150.

21 Aug

The Tundra is got EVERYTHING I need/want.

19 Jul

The Tundra is as comfortable to drive as a car

16 Jul

Now if you've driven an earlier Tundra V8 you know they're quick and responsive.

14 May

I love my 2006 Tundra so much!

31 Dec

I purchased my Tundra in 2008 and could not be happier with my purchase.

but the later TUNDRA was THE answer.

It's comfortable and fits the family just fine.

21 Feb

This truck has been the most comfortable and reliable vehicle for our family, bought almost twelve years ago and I have never needed to do any work to it except keeping the fluids changes and checked regularly.

19 Jul

9 Mar

Only a dipstick engineer could design a transmission without a dipstick.

14 Feb

but had problems with the transmission at 30K miles and the dealership wouldn't do anything for us (after our family had bought 4 cars from them).

27 Apr

There's plenty of get-up and you feel as if the truck is always pushing forward as you accelerate (that is, the automatic shifts very smoothly without loosing any power during shifts).

23 Feb

They also need to look at the problem that the transmission has in downshifting into first gear at low speeds.

31 Aug

Only problems have been large turning radius and transmission with cruise on gets finicky.

4 Jul

The transmission seems to have a hard time finding the correct gear, specially when using the cruise.

10 Jul

Yes, the transmission shift points and brakes took time to get used to,

9 Mar

The only way I can sometimes stop the noise is by inserting a rag between dash and truck frame.

11 Oct

The truck rides as if it was new, with little road noise, vibration, or any unusual sounds that would raise concerns.

19 Feb

It's at the point that when there's even the slightest bit of rain or snow on the road, the whole truck shakes violently when I try to brake.

25 Nov

It's extremely quiet - no wind or engine noise.

25 Mar

I replaced the serpentine belt in about 15 minutes having never done one before, and I also replaced the front brake pads and rotors in an afternoon.

19 Feb

On slippery roads, whenever I stepped on the brake pedal, it'd seize up and the truck would take forever to stop.

10 Jul

Yes, the transmission shift points and brakes took time to get used to,

6 May

Only problems are transmission makes it feel like someone is tapping you in the rear, sometimes, at red light, brakes can be a little spongy feeling,

2 Mar

The brakes don't act right, stop fine,

30 Jan

The brakes feel spongy and occasionally the brake pedal will sink way down and I feel like vehicle isn't going to stop, probably a problem with the ABS.
