What attracted me to the Flex was the similar interior to the Freestyle.

5 Jun

It now has paint blisters over 4 inches by 8 inches all along the rear tailgate and smaller ones across the front of the hood.

27 Nov

There are some scratches and paint bubbling that we will repair, as it looks almost brand-new.

8 Jun

Sadly Ford continues to allow it's paint vendors to continue doing shoddy paint work at the expense of the consumer.

15 Dec

The new Expedition has developed paint bubbles along the trunk and hood.

28 May

After 10,000 miles developed a whining-grinding noise when turning---sounded like it was coming from the front end--THREE DIFFERENT TIMES

27 Dec

The 365 hp twin turbo makes it glide down the road and no road noise at all.

29 Aug

No squeaks or rattles given the vast amount of plastic.

5 Jun

Sadly Ford has continued it's poor paint quality control and even after having Ford repaint this, at 34k miles under it's 36k warranty, it started peeling within months and Ford chose not to fix it for free.

8 Jun

My 2008 peeled within 2 years after purchase and I had to sue to get it fixed.

5 Jul

Besides the normal maintenance -- only repairs - 1 engine chip, 2 radio/cd replacements and 2 electric window motor replacements.

Also not impressed with the engine.

31 Dec

The engine is a complete piece of junk.

6 Nov

After having a 2005 ford freestyle limited AWD, and turning the fstyle in for the FLEX I am so far impressed with Ford's improvements.

13 Jul

Summary; bad calipers 6 times, bad brakes 3 shops couldn't figure out or fix.

12 Aug

I recently had trouble with the brake system.

7 Apr

The only thing I will really ding it for is that if you do drive it hard you will notice some brake fade.

1 Aug

To date, I have had NO mechanical problems and only normal maintenance of brakes, tires, etc.

5 Jun

Only problem so far was the break booster at a 500 dollar fix.

30 Aug

I paid that same amount to replace all of the brakes on my little Toyota Yaris and those were the cheapest available, so you could say I was pleasantly surprised this vehicle does not require buckets of money for regular maintenance.

28 Jan

I now have 50,000 miles on it and have replaced front rotors twice and back rotors once and have replaced brake pads tree times.

10 Oct

on 10/06/2010 while my wife was driving the car noticed that the front wheel (driver side) was vibrating she slowed down to 35 MPH and pushed the brake pedal to stop the car

13 Sep

The sunroof rattles, tranny failed, brake rotors failed (2600 miles), GPS system failed (Media, Phone, Radio and Nav screens lock/glitch), Iphone is incompatible, seat loses memory, USB failed, and tire pressure sensors failed.

1 Aug

Ford has done nothing to recall or fix any of the issues with this problem.

1 Dec

$5000 repair bill for a WATER PUMP FAILURE!

13 Sep

5 Hours after buying this, systems started failing.

18 Mar

The dealer ship may have located the problem as it now appears to be a faulty key pad on the door, as I use the pad to lock the car.

8 Jul

I loved the look and size of the Freestyle.

24 Mar

I checked out this car and its previous model: the Ford Freestyle.

9 Mar

but a friend of has a 07 Freestyle and my wife really liked the versatility without having to drive a minivan, or be sticker shocked by a Highlander or Pilot.

17 Sep

My company car use to be a Freestyle and I think the subtle changes Ford made was great.

23 Aug

It has 208K miles and has only needed minor engine work with the transmission lines.

15 Jun

Common problem #2: Transmission cooler goes out; ~600 repair Common problem #3: Vent/Defrost/Floor/Recirc actuators go bad; pretty easy fix unless the defrost/floor actuator goes out then the dash has to be removed to replace it.

2 Jul

Followed by the doozy---transmission fluid leak.

1 Mar

Like everyone else, I have a 2008 Ford Taurus X with transmission problems, and there is only 49,000 miles on the car.

25 Aug

My 2008 Ford Taurus X has 86,000 miles on it and the transmission is broken.

11 Jan

The Taurus X has a lot of transmission problems starting to show up.

17 Apr

I do have two complaints - the paint on the aluminum hood has blistered at the leading edge (common problem I've learned) and the rear hatch handle pins broke and pulled off.

19 Jun

No tremendous issues except for bubbling and peeling paint on the hood right above the grill.

28 Jul

While it's easy to drive and park (standard backup sensors) it's not exactly nimble.

23 Jul

In 100,000 miles driven it had only one major repair, the faulty input and output shaft sensors in early production models that Ford should have replaced.
