Nice car, fun to drive, plenty of room.

24 Jan

Happy with the style, more than enough space for each of my two girls to stay out of reach others hair.

15 Nov

Most van buyers will want more room.

1 Oct

You can also fold down the back seats, one at a time or all together, for plenty of cargo space.

21 Jan

It had a great amount of space and it was very sporty.

15 Jul

Most importantly was finding a 3rd row seating in a vehicle that didnt require loads of gas.

14 Apr

Plenty of storage space with the back row of seats down.

The comfy middle row bucket seats recline and have enough leg room, even for growing teenage boys around 6 feet tall.

Perfect car for small families who don't want to jump all the way into the big 'ole minivan market.

25 Jun

This car is a great family car.

20 Apr

Other than that its a great family car. Love the hansfree phone system a BIG plus :)

15 May

And because we carry our kids and a lot of stuff our back usually takes a hit, comfort would be the minimum.

13 Mar

For a small family on a budget I would recommend

Good gas millage

16 Apr

If you can find a low mileage used one, I highly recommend!

10 Dec

Decent fuel mileage and fun to drive.

2 Jul

Gas mileage is very good for a minivan.

31 Mar

All i can say this car exceeded my expectation , I also save $500 as I bought it with salvage title, it is trully nice Van with good MPG and capacity

13 Aug

No sunglass holder - limited front seat storage Good things 1. good gas milage 2. great handling 3. comfortable

15 May

My Mazda 3 from 2006 had a better sound system, was more comfortable and had the same gas mileage!

16 Apr

The car handles like a much smaller vehicle and the steering is responsive.

1 Dec

Perfect car for small families who don't want to jump all the way into the big 'ole minivan market.

2 Sep

but really small for her age and she has no leg room in the back seat!

2 Jul

Plenty of room for children and small adults on the back.

19 Aug

It is a perfect smaller van for those that like the convenience of sliding side doors and comfortable passenger seats behind the driver, It has the power to take you anywhere and the sleekness to make it noticed wherever you go.

13 Mar

For a small family on a budget I would recommend

10 Jan

With small kids, its nice to have the third row of seats in case we have to add friends.

29 Aug

The seat comfort for the 3rd row seats is absolutely awful, with almost no leg room.

20 Apr

I've had my Mazda 5 for 10 months now, love the interior, its comfortable and the ride is smooth.

1 Sep

Very versatile with room for 7 or fold down the seat and have room to haul almost anything.

13 Aug

We loved how the 3rd row seat folds flat for extra cargo room.

20 Feb

but still wants some extra room (holds 6 ) or cargo space.

14 Dec

Has an amazing amount of room for such a small vehicle.

25 Jun

Not enough storage space.

6 Nov

Two car seats in rear and the little one's still have plenty of room.

9 Sep

This car Drives live a Civic and gives me the extra space I need when Moving with the family and a friend or 2.

28 Sep

The one BIG down side is the lack of storage space for the driver.

26 Dec

Comfy, roomy, for a small car.

14 Nov

It's nimble and quick, in spite of the small engine, because it's so light; which makes it genuinely fun to drive on a daily basis.

20 Feb

The Mazda5 is perfect for a smaller person who doesn't like big gas guzzling cars

14 Dec

Has an amazing amount of room for such a small vehicle.

25 Jun

It's really easy to park since it's small and has a good turning radius.

28 Sep

Third row bench seat is very small,

25 Jun

It's great for getting the kids in and out, especially with the sliding rear doors.

6 Nov

Love the seat configuration, the captain chairs in the center give my older kids there own seat location.

4 Oct

Useful, best you can get for the money if you have just 2 children.

28 Sep

Second row captains chairs are great for getting kids in/out.

9 Mar

Base sport trim with no additional options.

14 Dec

Drivers more like a sports car than a van.

14 Oct

We have a 2013 Mazda5 Sport with 22,000 miles and the paint is coming off the car to bare metal around the wheel wells.

9 Mar

For a minivan, it is pretty stylish.

14 Nov

It is important to understand that this is more like a station wagon with a pop up third row for rare circumstances than a minivan.

6 Nov

Exterior - Looks more wagon than mini van, Dual sliding doors, simple flowing lines.

28 Jun

This car has taken us on long trips, 50min daily drives back and forth to work, chemotherapy treatments for my husband for multiple myleoma who passed away in 2017, wedding dress shopping for my daughter, and other family events or happenings.

15 Jan

It is super reliable and I use it to haul the family, bikes, and kayaks.

21 Jul

It is just right for trips involving a total of four people travelling to or from the airport with "normal" luggage for extended European trips.

28 Mar

This was the perfect car for my family, countless Scout trips, road trips, long drives, and running errands in town.

22 May

Comfortable and lots of room for groceries when third row down.

3 May

Was excellent for commuting back and forth during family visits and hospital stays.

5 Feb

Best bang for the buck for any young family.

14 Jun

the ideal car for the whole family.

8 Apr

This car handles well and is a perfect size for our family.

22 Oct

Great car for the young family with two sliding doors, center bucket seats and 3rd row.

29 Mar

Excellent seat space.

28 Mar

The 3rd row folds flat for tons of cargo space,

22 May

Comfortable and lots of room for groceries when third row down.

3 May

This is a Great Family vehicle, plenty of room, and great interior features.

12 May

It also has enough room for us to add two of their friends.

11 Sep

Lots of space for our family of 5

24 Aug

Not much pep and no room for my purse.

26 May

Lots of room for a family of 5.

16 May

Plenty of leg room and packing space.

2 Apr

Good gas mileage and plenty of space.

29 Mar

but still really good space to move kids stuff.

18 Oct

Nothing beats having the sliding doors, it's so convenient when getting your kids in/out.

12 May

The gas mileage is good, and it is great to pick up and drop off the kids.

4 Sep

The third row is best for children.

24 Aug

Kids always stepping on seats to get to the back. Boo.

23 Sep

I would recommend this car (or wagon or micro-van) to anyone who enjoys driving a responsive, fun to drive vehicle that can be configured to accommodate a lot of "hauling" room for gear or up to 6 people (4 adults, 2 small children). .

13 Jul

It was a good choice for us because the mini-minivan handles like a sporty car so is fun to drive, hauls 4 or 5 kids easily, can carry good cargo when the seats are down and with the addition of a roof rack it handles our kayaks.

19 Feb

That said, I recently spoke with another Mazda5 owner whose kids were all younger than mine and she thought it was great for them, too.

8 Feb

can accomodate 2 adults and 4 kids (ages 8 to 14) very comfortable. Has the Mazda "zoom-zoom."

26 Mar

If you don't have kids, it's still a great vehicle and worth checking out.

24 Jun

It is a feature laden vechicle that is fun to drive and is a lot of vehicle for the money!

31 Oct

Very reliable and great fun car to drive.

6 Aug

If you're looking for a great handling, gorgeous, fun to drive car then give this one a look.

8 Nov

Really enjoy the car.

23 Sep

In fact it is more than I expected because it is fun to drive, and I am getting better average mileage than expected--averaging 30+ MPG.

13 Jul

It was a good choice for us because the mini-minivan handles like a sporty car so is fun to drive, hauls 4 or 5 kids easily, can carry good cargo when the seats are down and with the addition of a roof rack it handles our kayaks.

19 Feb

It is fantastic to maneuver and park, fun to drive, and just what our family needed.

30 Jun

It's actually quite a bit of fun to throw around a bit!

19 Dec

but waay cooler looking and fun to drive.

30 Sep

21 Jul

24 Jun

It is a feature laden vechicle that is fun to drive and is a lot of vehicle for the money!

3 May

This is a Great Family vehicle, plenty of room, and great interior features.

2 May

The car has adequate power and does really great in the snow with standard traction features.

31 Oct

Seating options are great with up to 6 seats. .

11 Sep

Babysitting our 3 grandchildren means the third row seats and safety features are a must.

8 Nov

It came with great features, leather seats, and a sun roof.

19 Feb

This tiny little feature is actually very helpful!

8 Feb

but are happy to have the option for extra room and not feel like we're crammed into a subcompact.

30 Sep

Downsides are few: would have liked more interior storage cubbies as well as the options of a turbo engine (diesel would've been perfect) touchscreen nav, tinted rear windows and/or integrated sunshades for the kids, power sliding doors and liftgate.

29 Mar

Now have multiple warning lights on - muffler leak, engine vacuum value, ABS sensor.

19 Feb

I would switch from red LED displays to blue or green and lastly I was surprised that the headlights didn't come on automatically and that the names of songs and artists on the radio weren't displayed anywhere.

30 Jun

The ONLY downside that we have come across thus far is the inability to turn on the interior dome light from the driver seat.

15 Oct

Brakes are noisy and it's not ideal for over 4 passengers.

29 Apr

Gas mileage is not good Road noise dampening would help Nav should be offered in all classes Car is designed efficiently Handles well and is quick

23 Sep

My only complaint is there is a lot of road noise,

30 Jun

but my wife didn't like the road noise.

13 Feb

The visibility is insane and my wife absolutely loves it every time she drives it when my daughter comes back from college, the exterior design is pretty sharp looking and has aged well, and the seat storage in the second row comes in handy.

28 Jun

6 seats, AC freezer, comfortable seats, sliding doors, silver, fits my family great, easy on the gas, well maintained due state moving U will Love that car

4 Dec

The overall design of the car was well thought out and had plenty of room driving around my family.

11 Jul

I drive a ton (can vary from 40 miles/day to 100+/day) for work and it's great on gas. I can fit the whole family inside (2 kids, 100lb shep, husband.)

17 Jan

An awesome sporty family car that can't be beat in the balance of practicality and fun.

19 Dec

It is perfect for when family visits or my kids have friends with us.

14 Dec

Very low to the ground for you short moms.

31 Oct

there is enough room to transport the 4 of us (2 toddlers and 2 adults) and have extra room in the back with the 3rd row up or down.

11 Apr

Bucket seats for everyone in the family (4 of us).

9 Apr

The whole family loves our Mazda 5! !

17 Apr

have had this car since day 1 pro: Fun to drive even after 10 years with 100K, ( same as Mazda 3 engine ) Great cargo space for travel , commute

2 Jan

Being smaller than most minivans, makes it so much easier to maneuver in small spaces which makes in invaluable driving in the city,

4 Dec

The overall design of the car was well thought out and had plenty of room driving around my family.

9 Apr

The seats fold down easily for extra hauling space.

31 Oct

there is enough room to transport the 4 of us (2 toddlers and 2 adults) and have extra room in the back with the 3rd row up or down.

9 Apr

Love all the extra room!

4 Sep

It is unlikely that we'll be transporting more than 4 people very often - therefore, the rear seats are almost always down and provide great space for cargo.

18 May

but it has infinite amounts more cargoe space.

6 Mar

I would recommend this vehicle to any small size family who just needs a little extra room sometimes.

28 Dec

My family of 5 fits nicely with room for a friend!

17 Apr

Overall, we still like Mazda 5 , a fund drive mini van

13 Feb

Love this minivan,

2 Jan

but the pep and zip of its makes it feel like I'm driving a small car instead of a minivan.

14 Dec

but big enough for 6 people like a mini van.

25 Mar

Gets better mileage than a minivan and SUV, and is smaller/easier to manage.

31 Oct

but other than that, this is an EXCELLENT MINI MINI Van and will recommend to a small family looking for a little more room.

11 Apr

Not at all top heavy like a full-size minivan.

4 Sep

As a small minivan, the 5 is in a class by itself.

18 May

I would give the vehicle a 5 in all categories because I feel this is a great alternative to a minivan or even a small SUV (I have owned both).

9 Feb

Holds 4 car seats and 2 adults (or 6 six adults), gets great gas mileage, is inexpensive compared to other mini-vans, etc, etc.

17 Apr

have had this car since day 1 pro: Fun to drive even after 10 years with 100K, ( same as Mazda 3 engine ) Great cargo space for travel , commute

12 Dec

Fun to drive. Dependable.

17 Jan

but doesn't lose the mazda zoom zoom fun!

6 Mar

It has great visability and it is fun to drive and maneuvers very well!

26 Jul

I also test drove a Nissan Cube which was fun,

15 Jul

It is fun to drive.

10 Jul

but since I'm only in need of extra seating occasionally, I very much enjoy the extra cargo room (with the rear two seats folded down).

17 Apr

but saving gas ( unlike standard VAN) Good interior finished quality after 10 years.

28 Jun

6 seats, AC freezer, comfortable seats, sliding doors, silver, fits my family great, easy on the gas, well maintained due state moving U will Love that car

11 Jul

Has a nice kick when you hit the gas (typical Mazda zoom zoom).

17 Jan

We have taken many longer trips and it's excellent on fuel ( 30+ MPG highway) and the Thule style roof racks are nice to put the bikes on the roof.

21 May

It is very peppy with excellent gas mileage.

9 Apr

The vehicle gets very good gas mileage.

11 Apr

Gas mileage is 27 on the road and 23 in town.

9 Apr

Fuel economy has been great - averaging 24mpg consitently, and up to 28 with highway driving.

1 Sep

I love the fuel economy and the overall performance of this van/ wagon.

6 Mar

It has great gas mileage!

17 Apr

Most time , reliable with replaced several parts ( with average $100 for total $1300 so far) Con: Poor design of suspension caused noise after 50K , Mazda should admit and recall.

13 Feb

The wind noise is also intrusive,

4 Dec

Even after struts, bushings, sway bar links and other repairs it still always made noises when hitting bumps.

9 Apr

It has a bit of road noise and the suspension has needed repairs.

13 Feb

Now, the rear suspension is going out and you can hear creaking sounds when driving.

31 Oct

there are only speakers in the back and front, it would be nice to have speakers in the middle and a sun roof.

11 Apr

Our other complaint was that a Bose sound system is not available on this Mazda - Boo Hiss.

1 Sep

The only thing I would choose to add would be window tint, a custom stereo and fog lamps.

For a family of 6 (Kids under 11) this is a great choice for commuting and playing "taxi" to all their events.

16 Jun

It is the perfect fit for our family.

22 Apr

This is great for small families that don't want the stigma of a mini van,

28 Jan

My husband and I shopped around for something that was reasonable and could fit a family of six.

24 Nov

The Mazda 5 still delivers 28MPG at those speeds with 4 adults and a few suitcases.

20 Feb

but awesome minivan.

14 Aug

Excellent small van, still has plenty of space and gets way better mileage than the large minivans.

24 Feb

Google revealed only the Mazda5 as an alternative to the traditional minivan for rear sliders.

11 Mar

This super mini van was my best choice and I?m very glad I bought this,.

23 Jan

Best Handling minivan.

18 Jul

But, overall I really like this car. I refuse to call it a mini-van, I prefer "sport wagon" :)

22 Apr

This is great for small families that don't want the stigma of a mini van,

28 Jan

It doesn't give you that minivan feel.

18 Dec

Handling is great and it turns tight for the size which is great in the city.

17 Nov

Good car, great handling, very tight.

1 Jul

Good room, handles great and with the pearl paint and tinted glass.

24 Feb

Love the handling, sportiness (zoom-zoom!

16 Apr

but the handling improved a lot when I got performance winter tires, the regular Maza-tires are cheap and not that good.

23 Jan

Best Handling minivan.

24 Nov

3) Narrow headlight focal plane - say like when you're turning into an alley, it would help to have a little more peripheral light.

29 Aug

I have put a quick 1,500 miles on it, taking trips with my children to visit family.

29 Jun

We owned Mazda5 for 4.5 yrs made 75K, Comfort -not so much very small seats for a big guy, third row seats only for small kids not for an adult,

16 Apr

For a family like us who likes to go whitewater kayaking and has a small child it's the perfect car.

13 Dec

but fit the kids very well and they can access easily, even with the car seats.

18 Jul

(6 gr children) I have 5 sp manual and love it.

23 Aug

This vehicle steering locked and just shut off completely made weird razor noise.

1 May

The only issue that really isn't an issue at all is the road noise.

16 Apr

My 2006 Mazda had some small issues like some plastic parts getting loose or some strange noise from the bushings ,battery replacement in the third winter,

6 Jan

N/A

24 Mar

The worst part is road noise.

This one seats 6, and is roomy enough for my family of 5.

16 May

Noisy at highway speeds.

27 Jan

Road noise is a problem and since tires are due for replacement I'm trying to find the right winter tire type/psi ratio to minimize the noise.

6 May

Ride is bumpy and road noise can be deafening,

31 Mar

Also, the front end makes a lot of noise when going over small bumps, from the suspension I presume,

27 Mar

My only complaint is that I did hear lots of road noise while on the highway.
